At its annual Point in Time Gala event on Saturday evening, November 11, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre (PBT) artistic director Adam W. McKinney announced that PBT will be presenting the U.S. premiere of Cinderella by choreographer Jayne Smeulders for its 2023-24 season finale in May.

The Queensboro Dance Festival is moving online this year, kicking off on May 16.

At an audition held on October 17, Adam Robert Dickerson and Shawn Lesniak were selected by Artistic Director Michael Novak to join the world-renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company. Quinton Guthier was chosen to join the acclaimed Taylor 2.

The American Dance Guild Festival 2019, Shaping the Now: Dance in Uncertain Times, will honor dance educator and advocate Jody Gottfried Arnhold and choreographic luminaries Gus Solomons jr and Abdel R. Salaam, co-founder and director of Forces of Nature Dance Theater. There will be four days of performances by thirty-three contemporary choreographers from across the United States. The Festival will take place October 3 through October 6 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, in New York City. The 2019 American Dance Guild Festival is dedicated to past ADG President Muriel Manings.

Last year, in 2018, the third annual Dancers For Good Benefit supporting the Actors Fund Dancers Resource in East Hampton was so impressive that I challenged the founders to 'high-kick it up a notch even higher next year'. I'm thrilled to announce that not only did they clearly accept that challenge, they superseded all expectations!

The fourth annual Dancers For Good Benefit, supporting The Actors Fund, brought a multitude of talented, world-class dancers to Guild Hall in East Hampton. TONY Award-winning actress, Cady Huffman graciously hosted the evening, delivering a light-hearted and cheerful tone as she led the event, which honored Jerry Mitchell, Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.

At auditions attended by more than 350 women held on May 17 and 20, Maria Ambrose, Lisa Borres and Jada Pearman were selected by Artistic Director Michael Novak to join the world-renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company. Jessica Ferretti was chosen to join the acclaimed Taylor 2.

Summer means festival season! Nationally and internationally, large and small, summer dance festivals showcase performances ranging from classical ballet to the ultra avant-garde. The magical Benefit evening of dance will feature an extraordinary line-up of performances by renowned companies and choreographers such as Amy Marshall Dance Company, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, Eryc Taylor Dance, Martha Graham Dance Company, Pam Tanowitz Dance, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Rock the Ballet and a special tribute to Broadway's CHICAGO The Musical!

Known for its "powerfully engaging" (New York Arts) and "contemporary and fresh" (Theatre Is Easy) choreography, Ariel Rivka Dance (ARD) collaborates with the acclaimed Amy Marshall Dance Company and choreographer/dancer Chanel DaSilva for a season of provocative dance dedicated to empowering female expression. An audience favorite for its accessible, graceful signature style of movement, the all-female ARD celebrates its 11th season under the helm of choreographer Ariel Grossman. Program includes two world premieres by Grossman, one by DaSilva, and beloved repertory by both Grossman and Marshall. (Program details are below.)
