About this studio
Knox Dance Worx is a family-run, family-centric dance studio at 11156 Outlet Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee, founded by owner/director Shelley Martin and now in its 17th season. It teaches tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical/contemporary and a leaps-and-turns technique class, and takes beginners of all ages with preschool classes, elementary-school beginner classes and beginner classes for middle schoolers, plus a Wee Dance program for the youngest children. The studio's stated outlook is that dance is a passion rather than a competition, and its aim is well-rounded dancers and high-quality dance education; it nevertheless has a company directed by Jenn Kyles alongside Shelley Martin and co-director Katie Shankles. New students are offered a free 45-minute trial lesson, summer classes run separately, and registration is through Jackrabbit.
