Joy McDaniel Academy of Dance and Gymnastics

Joy McDaniel Academy of Dance and Gymnastics (JMAD) is at 11125 Highway 70, Suite 113-114 in Arlington, Tennessee, and emphasises dance and gymnastics education and performance. It takes students from age 2 upward and stresses building self-confidence and creativity through positive role models who treat each child as a whole person, not just a dancer. Combination ballet and tap classes with creative movement are grouped by age and ability from preschool (3-5) through intermediate (7-9). Advanced levelled classes cover ballet, ballet technique, tap, jazz, hip hop and contemporary, with placement by instructor and prerequisites requiring concurrent ballet study. Gymnastics runs across four levels from age 4, progressing from rolls and cartwheels to handsprings and aerials using beam and mini-tramp. Six-week short sessions run four times a year and include Pre-Ballet for 2 and 3 year olds, Toddler Music & Tumbling, and Adult Tap. The studio also has a Team JMAD program and summer programs, with registration through Jackrabbit.
