About this studio
Joffrey Ballet School was founded in New York City in 1953 by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino and operates from studios at 434 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, with additional children's classes in Long Island City. Its year-round programs run from Children's Ballet for ages 2-7 and Youth Ballet for ages 8-18 through a Community Ballet program for beginners aged 8-10, a pre-professional Trainee Program for ages 13-25 offering either Ballet or Jazz & Contemporary concentrations, a Bachelor of Fine Arts pathway, the JoffreyRED contemporary ballet apprenticeship with Los Angeles company BalletRED for ages 14-19, and the Joffrey Concert Group, the school's resident pre-professional company founded in 1981.
