About this studio
The American Academy of Ballet (AAB), founded by Mignon Furman and based in New York with a business address at 250 W. 90th St, has worked in classical ballet education and performance for more than 30 years. Its main activity is the AAB Summer School of Excellence, held on the Purchase College (SUNY) campus where classes, dormitories, meals and performances all take place; dancers train six days a week in ballet, pointe, variations, pas de deux, contemporary, character and repertoire under faculty drawn from the Paris Opera Ballet, the Royal Ballet School of Europe, the Vaganova Academy, Teatro Colon and New York City Ballet. Auditions run January to March across the United States and in more than 15 countries. A Junior Summer School serves dancers aged 9 to 12.
