Dance classes in Midlothian, Virginia
Encore Studio is a dance studio at 15584 Westchester Commons Way, Midlothian, Virginia, which describes itself as the longest-standing dance studio in the Richmond area, teaching since 1990/1991. It offers three tracks: a recreational EnCORE curriculum introducing age-appropriate skills and technique, an intensive program of advanced training in jazz, tap, ballet and contemporary, and a competitive program in which students who show strong skills and character join the Encore Collaborative and perform at competitions. Recreational classes begin with Little Dancers for ages 2.5 to 4, learning basics through play and creative exercises, followed by combination classes such as ballet and tap or jazz and acro, then classical ballet from age 7, jazz, jazzy hip hop, contemporary, tap, lyrical and acro. Dress codes are specified for each class. Summer programs are also offered, free trial classes are advertised for prospective students, and fall classes begin on 14 September.
