Downtown Dance Factory is a children's dance studio at 291 Broadway in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan, teaching students from toddlers to teenagers. Its stated philosophy is that dance is for everyone, with classes open to dancers of all genders and levels. The program is grouped into three tracks: 'For the Littles' for ages 1.5 to 5, comprising TutuTots, KindiBallet, KindiHop, KindiBreaking and KindiCombo; 'Everybody Dance' for ages 5 to 18 in jazz, ballet, lyrical, tap, hip hop, breaking and theater dance; and an invitation-only Advanced Training track for pre-professional students. The studio also offers private lessons, small private-group 'pods', a summer program, birthday parties and studio rental, and it holds annual recitals plus demonstration classes for families. A free trial class is available, and alumni have gone on to study dance at Juilliard, USC, the University of Michigan and Pace.
