About this studio
Discalced Inc operates as the Mark Morris Dance Group, a modern dance company and music ensemble founded by choreographer Mark Morris, based at the Mark Morris Dance Center at 3 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn. Alongside touring productions, the Dance Center runs a public school and adult program. The School serves children and teens from 18 months to 18 years of all levels and abilities, in an inclusive, non-recital, recreational setting built around the belief that 'Dance is for Anybody!'; students share work at Family and Friends Days at the end of each semester rather than in a recital. Genres include Modern, Contemporary, Jazz and Broadway Jazz, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Tap, West African dance, Creative Dance, and Music and Singing, plus adaptive and sensory-friendly classes.
