The Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit at 1850 S. Manhattan Place in Los Angeles offering a comprehensive dance curriculum from around age three upward, with a stated focus on serving disenfranchised Black and Latino communities. Programs are tiered by commitment: Early Bird for children roughly 3 to 9; the Academy for committed students aged eight or nine and up, who take nine to ten classes a week; Red Birds, hand-picked by Debbie Allen, and a Conservatory track centred on classical ballet and modern dance; Sons of DADA, a scholarship program for boys aged 8 to 13 covering ballet, African, hip hop and tap; RISE musical theatre for ages 6 to 20; and open classes. Ensemble is the pre-professional company.
