Presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth, the tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY is coming to Fort Worth. WEST SIDE STORY will open at Bass Performance Hall tonight, January 15 and run through January 20. Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway. The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin announced today the cast for Putting It Together, running January 11 - February 3, 2013 at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast includes Diana Sheehan, Bob Hess, Alex Organ, Sarah Elizabeth Smith and John Campione. Making their WaterTower Theatre debuts in this production are Sarah Elizabeth Smith and John Campione.

The Dallas Opera is particularly excited to bring Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer Dominick Argento back to Dallas after a very long absence for a special "Composing Conversation," conducted in partnership with Art&Seek, KERA's arts initiative. The visit is prompted, in part, by the Dallas Opera's upcoming 25th Anniversary production of the world premiere of Argento's masterful adaptation of Henry James' THE ASPERN PAPERS.

Amphibian Stage Productions today announced casting for its first staged reading of the 2013 season, On the Ceiling by Nigel Planer. Patrick Bynane and Michael Muller will star in this two-performance event on Sunday, January 27 and Monday, January 28 at Amphibian's theater at 120 S. Main Street. Longtime Amphibian collaborator David A. Miller will direct the reading.

DTC Receives Mellon Grant for Playwright-in-Residence

Dallas Theater Center announced today that The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded it a grant to support a three-year playwright residency. Award-winning playwright and 2010 Meadows Prize recipient Will Power will be DTC's new playwright in residence.
Dallas Theater Center Launches Come Early Pre-Show Lectures, Beginning 1/18

Dallas Theater Center announced today that it will launch a new, free pre-show lecture program, Come Early, sponsored by Wells Fargo, with the first performance of King Lear on January 18. Come Early is an informative 30-minute lecture that will be offered before every performance of every play at DTC. It is designed to enhance the audience's theater-going experience and is a companion program to DTC's existing Dr. Pepper Snapple Stay Late post-show audience talk back series.

Dallas Theater Center Patrons Donate Over $63,000 to North Texas Food Bank in 5th Year of Partnership

Dallas Theater Center patrons donated $63,186.72 to the North Texas Food Bank during DTC's annual production of A Christmas Carol. The previous record of $48,988.85 was set in 2010. During the five-year partnership with NTFB, DTC patrons have donated $239,918.35 to the organization.

Dallas Theater Center will conclude its four-year Shakespeare cycle with one of the playwright's greatest tragedies King Lear, a co-production with Trinity Repertory Company and directed by DTC artistic director Kevin Moriarty.
