Photo Flash: 'The World Will Know' These NEWSIES at MYO Youth Theatre

MYO Youth Theatre will present the modern classic NEWSIES September 27-29 in McKinney Texas. Shows will be at the Church Street auditorium located at 306 North Church Street near the downtown square. The MYO production will feature 40 young performers from schools all over the North Collin County area. The show will be led by Frisco senior Eli Nash as Jack, Annelise Best as Katherine, Kai Petersen as Davey, and tiny Andie Miller as Les. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at https://myonewsies.bpt.me or at the door.

The 2011 hit Broadway musical Once, inspired by the 2007 film of the same name, is the second production on the 57th season at Theatre Three. Directed by Marianne Galloway, audiences can expect an immersive, fresh take on the musical favorite in Uptown Dallas. Once runs September 13 through October 7 on the theater's Norma Young Arena Stage (2800 Routh Street #168, Dallas, TX). Tickets range from $10-50 and are on sale at Theatre Three's newly designed website (www.Theatre3Dallas.com). Rover Dramawerks continues their 18th Season with the classic comedy Charley's Aunt by Brandon Thomas. Performances will be at Rover's theatre in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances run September 13-29 on Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 p.m.

OKLAHOMA! opens at Artisan Center Theater today, August 31, 2018 and runs through Saturday, September 29, 2018. The 196 seat theater-in-the-round is located at 444 East Pipeline Road in Hurst. Performances are at 7:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Today, and Saturday with 3:00pm matinees on Saturdays beginning September 8. Reserved seating tickets are $24.00 for adults, $22.00 for students and seniors, and $12.00 for children 12 and under.  Monday through Thursday tickets are $22.00 for adults and $10.00 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at ArtisanCT.com, or by calling the box office at 817-284-1200.

TUTS' production of Oklahoma! will be directed by Dallas Theater Center's Artistic Director, Kevin Moriarty. The production, which is an artistic collaboration with Houston Ballet, will be choreographed by Stanton Welch AM, Artistic Director of Houston Ballet. Broadway conductor Kimberly Grigsby will be Musical Director of the show. Joining them on the production are Andrew Harper as Sound Designer, Jason Lyons as Lighting Designer, and Karen Perry as Costume Design. Casting for Oklahoma! was provided by Paul Hardt of Stewart/Whitley.

AT&T Performing Arts Center Awarded Grant for Disney Musicals In Schools Program

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center today announced that Disney has awarded the Center a grant to bring the Disney Musicals in Schools program to the Dallas area. The three-year program is an initiative developed by Disney Theatrical Productions to create sustainable theatre programs in under-resourced public elementary schools. The Center and Disney will select five Dallas Independent School District elementary schools to participate in this year's program. An additional five schools will be chosen for the program in 2020. The Center is one of the first organizations chosen for the program in the southwest United States.
