HAYDN Symphony No. 52 STRAVINSKY Pétrouchka The Cleveland Orchestra Haydn’s turbulent Symphony No. 52 sets the tone for a program that highlights Stravinsky’s Pétrouchka. This bold and utterly distinct ballet score made a splash at its 1911 premiere with its folktale plot and brilliant music, which foreshadowed the innovations the composer would explore further in The Rite of Spring.
