The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will present the first-ever symphonic work to be performed both in a concert hall and the metaverse. 'Chow Sang Sang Jewellery Proudly Sponsors: Metaverse Symphony' will be held on 5 & 6 May 2023 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall.

Dance Theatre Womanhood, a work that 'touches the very heart', explores how women discover and realise themselves in contemporary society. Four performances will be held at the Studio Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre from 12 to 14 May 2023.

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra will welcome two leading international conductors and two renowned soloists for two programmes beginning next week.

The internationally acclaimed Youth Music Culture The Greater Bay Area (YMCG) has shared details regarding their 2023 events. YMCG, presented under the auspices of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province and organized by the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and Xinghai Concert Hall with renowned Maestro Long Yu heading its Artistic Committee, has successfully been held for six consecutive years (2017-2022).

Performances are on 3 and 4 February 2023.

Life and its many facets are encapsulated in the rise and fall of a century-old Peking duck restaurant in The Top Restaurant, the play that launched former HKRep Resident Playwright He Jiping's career. Based on an ownership tussle over the renowned Fujude restaurant, this story is set in post-1911 Beijing. Foods and their many flavours become metaphors for life, enlivening characters and garnering resonance with the audience, engendering a classic that has transcended time.

But it can’t conceal a world of heartfelt emotion. It’ll make a perfect contrast to Berlioz’s colourful and vivid Roman Carnival Overture, and Chen Qigang’s modern masterpiece: a profoundly poetic meeting of Eastern and Western musical traditions.

The HK Phil and Resident Conductor Lio Kuokman celebrate the 425th anniversary of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the three most popular musical settings of this timeless story! Tchaikovsky was deeply inspired by Shakespeare, and the love theme from his Romeo and Juliet symphonic poem has become one of his most memorable melodies.
