Chicago’s favorite holiday musical is based on the historic Great Lakes voyages of Christmas tree ships during the late 1800s and early 1900s. THE CHRISTMAS SCHOONER tells the true story of a Michigan shipping captain who braves the deadly winter weather to bring Christmas trees to homesick German American families in turn-of-the-century Chicago. His voyages become a yearly tradition, despite his wife's misgivings – until a fateful voyage makes her realize the true importance of his mission.

Chicago Cabaret Professionals Emerging Artist Showcase Finalists Set To Perform This Week
August 23, 2023 The five finalists of the 2023 Chicago Cabaret Professionals Emerging Artist Showcase will be performing on August 24 at 7:30pm at Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago. Each will perform a three-song set and a panel of judges will determine the winner, who will receive the Denise Tomasello Cabaret Scholarship to support the production of a solo cabaret show.
