The Caretaker - first performed in 1960 - was Harold Pinter's first big hit. Fifty years later, it remains as mysterious and compelling as ever. In this new production, two-time Tony Award winner Jonathan Pryce joins the pantheon of legendary actors who have played the part of the enigmatic drifter, Davies. Offered shelter in a dilapidated London flat by two strangers who later turn out to be brothers, Davies becomes embroiled in power games both terrifying and comic. When this production opened at the Liverpool Everyman Theatre in October 2009 it was acclaimed as one of the finest-ever productions of the play. Now it comes to the Curran Theatre in San Francisco for a special limited-time engagement running March 28 - April 22, 2012.
