Anon(ymous) at Governors State University

University Park, IL – Governors State University’s Theatre and Performance Studies (TAPS) Program presents Anon(ymous), written by Naomi Iizuka and directed by Gabrielle Wilson, November 6–9, 2025 in Sherman Hall at Governors State University. Anon(ymous) reimagines Homer’s Odyssey through the eyes of a young refugee separated from his mother and searching for a place to call home. Naomi Iizuka’s poetic and deeply human play explores themes of identity, displacement, and resilience—making it as relevant today as ever. In a creative pivot, this season’s production moves away from a full-scale traditional staging to an elevated staged reading—a dynamic hybrid format that merges the clarity and intimacy of a reading with the sensory richness of select production elements.
