Open Stage to Present Third Installment of STORES FROM HOME, 6/19-29

Dauphin County Commissioners Jeff Haste, George P. Hartwick III, Mike Pries, and Open Stage of Harrisburg will partner to present the third installment in the STORIES FROM HOME series, Dauphin County, June 19 through 29 at the theatre in the street level of the Walnut Street Parking Garage in downtown Harrisburg. Performances are June 19-29, 2014. This third annual theatrical celebration will play at 8pm on June 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28, at 2pm on June 21, 22, and 29, and at 7pm on June 22.
Civic Theatre to Close 2013-14 Season with URINETOWN, 5/2-18

Civic Theatre will present the finale to its 2013-2014 main stage season with the irreverent, laugh-out-loud Tony-winning musical, "Urinetown" opening on Friday, May 2 with performances through Sunday, May 18. Civic's Artistic Director William Sanders directs and choreographs this musical that won 2002 Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score and has been hailed as one of the most original musicals of the last 20 years. All performances will be held at Civic's historic Nineteenth Street Theatre at 527 N. 19th Street in Allentown. Special discounted tickets are available for performances on opening weekend. One hundred of Lancaster's most impassioned TEDx enthusiasts will come together on Saturday, May 3rd for a day of networking and dialogue around the theme Break New Ground. The event will take place at The Ware Center on 42 North Prince Street Lancaster and will feature an incredible line-up of speakers on topics ranging from innovations in education to health to technology and the arts. Attendees will also have an opportunity to network at an on-site lunch event. Also, the event will be live broadcast at Millersville University at the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center for free. The independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, was organized by Laura Kendall, Harvey Owen and a committee of community volunteers and is aimed at creating dialogue as well as giving people a forum to share their passions, ideas and experiences.
