Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg is proud to present the musical The Fantasticks to open their 2014-2015 Season. This longest-running New York musical opened in 1960 at The Sullivan Street Theater in New York City. Following a brief hiatus after 42 years, the musical was reopened in 2006 and is currently running there.

Millersville University faculty members Drs. Anita Renfroe and Xun Pan will perform together in a concert of music written for two pianos on Oct. 4, 7:30 p.m., at the Ware Center of Millersville University in Lancaster. The Ware Center is located at 42 N. Prince Street, Lancaster. The concert, "Fantastic Conversations," will include music by Mozart (the Sonata in D, K. 448), Schubert (Fantasie in F Mino), and Bach, and 20th-century composers Darius Milhaud, Francis Poulenc and William Elden Bolcom.

Wenzel Fuchs, principal clarinetist of the Berliner Phillharmoniker, will appear in a program of classical music at the Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center at Millersville University on Wednesday evening, Oct. 8. The Winter Center is located at 60 W. Cottage Ave, Millersville. Fuchs is considered to be one of the most exciting clarinetists in the world today. He has appeared with such eminent conductors as Daniel Barenboim, Herbert Blomstedt, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Simon Rattle and Franz Welser-Most.

The Ephrata Performing Arts Center will be presenting the second in a series of Young Artists' Cabarets tonight, September 27 at 7pm at EPAC's Sharadin Bigler Theater. Directed by Irving I. Gonzalez with music direction by Sarah Repkoe, this Heart and Music cabaret will present a glimpse at future EPAC stars in this gathering of young talent on the Sharadin Bigler stage.
DreamWrights' Stage to Present THE HOBBIT This October

More than 160 children and adults from York and beyond will join forces to bring J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit to the stage of DreamWrights' Youth and Family Theatre for 12 performances from Oct. 10 to 26. Audiences of all ages will be treated to a unique, fantasy-filled stage set, including a close-to-life-size dragon and climbable mountains created by local set designer Ray Olewiler.

Civic Theatre will launch its 2014-2015 main stage season with the Lehigh Valley premiere of Mel Brooks' monstrously funny musical, 'Young Frankenstein' on Friday, October 10 with performances through Sunday, October 26. Civic's Artistic Director William Sanders directs. Gwen Swanson-Vigorito and Sanders serve as co-choreographers. Steve Reisteter serves as musical director.
