Broadway and TV star Robert Emmet Lunney headlines the Phoenicia Playhouse's one-night-only benefit performance of A.R. Gurney's Pulitzer-nominated play "Love Letters," which features a couple who read aloud the letters - inspiring, conflicted, heartwarming and bittersweet - that they have sent each other throughout the half-century of their intertwined lives. Noni Connor co-stars in the performance, which is directed by Liz Piccoli and features accompaniment by award-winning violinist Xiaoqing Zhang. Before the performance, join us for a reception and silent auction at Phoenicia Diner, with a tasting menu and craft cocktails. All proceeds from the benefit will support the Playhouse's mainstage season and youth theater programs. Come out and show your support for our historic theater (still going strong after more than 130 years!) and the Shandaken Theatrical Society, while enjoying delicious eats and frosty beverages from one of the Hudson Valley's most popular restaurants. The reception at Phoenicia Diner begins at 6:00PM; the performance at Phoenicia Playhouse begins at 8:00PM.
