It's All a Swindle at The Beechman Theater

Kabarettist Artemisia LeFay returns to the repertoire of the Weimar Republic with a new show, joined by double bassist Clayton Thompson and pianist Renee Guerrero. The trio explores how radical thinkers, fringe voices, and vaudevillians of the 1920s and 1930s endured times of fascist political upheaval, and how their words, songs, and stories have outlived them. The show draws parallels between that era and today, examining how music has been used as medicine in increasingly turbulent times. Featured composers include Kurt Weill, Mischa Spoliansky, Friedrich Hollaender and Hans Eisler.
