Ginita y La Orquesta Esa, the brainchild of Ecuadorian-Honduran-American trombonist, arranger, composer, vocalist, and bandleader Ginita, brings original dance music rooted in salsa, cumbia, mambo, tango, and Afro-Cuban rhythms to Birdland Jazz Club. Founded just two years ago in New York City, the ensemble performs in configurations ranging from a 10-piece to a 16-piece band. The group has established a presence at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club and the Jazz Gallery, while Ginita herself performs with ensembles including The Roy Hargrove Big Band, Ulysses Owens Jr.'s New Century Big Band, and The Dee Dee Bridgewater Big Band, among others.
