A special ensemble of modern young masters of swinging music performs American Songbook repertoire in celebration of America's 250th birthday. The group includes vocalist-pianist Robbie Lee, drummer Bryan Carter, vocalists Angela Grey, Olivia Chindamo, and Wyatt Michael, clarinetist Felix Peikli, and bassist Liany Mateo. The performance is dedicated in memory of beloved clarinetist Ken Peplowski, one of Birdland's most esteemed artists-in-residence. Carter is a multiple Grammy-, Tony-, and Emmy-winner, and Peikli serves as artistic director of the Norwegian Jazz Orchestra.
