The Breithaupt Brothers
The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce the Birdland debut of the award-winning songwriting team Don and Jeff Breithaupt. Special musical guests will include Catherine Russell, Peter Eldridge, Carolyn Leonhart (Steely Dan), Laila Biali, Heather Bambrick, Jamie Leonhart, Marissa Mulder, Shelley McPherson, J'Sun, Matthew Saldivar, Michael Halling, and Drew Humphrey.

Mike Stern and Bill Evans Band
Jazz guitarist Mike Stern is part of a generation of jazz guitarists including John Abercrombie and John Scofield who combined the stylistic influences of Jim Hall and Wes Montgomery with the electric sounds of rock and roll. Beginning in 1976 as a member of Blood, Sweat & Tears, Stern went on to tour and record with Billy Cobham, Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, and the Brecker Brothers before launching a solo career encompassing 16 recordings as a leader, six GRAMMY nominations, and numerous collaborations combining rock-fusion firepower with sophisticated jazz harmonies. The band will include Bill Evans on sax, Steve Smith on drums and Tom Kennedy on bass.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce the return of singer Trevor McQueen in a brand new show, "The Sounds of '66." Following his sold-out Birdland debut with a 16-piece big band, Trevor McQueen returns with The Sounds of '66, drawing upon a year that produced music from Bob Dylan, Wayne Shorter, Stephen Sondheim, The Beatles, and everything in between. The concert will also feature guest vocalist and two-time Grammy award-nominee Jane Monheit, and a dectet under the direction of Angelo Di Loreto.

With Special Guest Elizabeth Stanley
The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce the debut of Amy Spanger with special guest Elizabeth Stanley. In collaboration with her partner, musical whiz-kid Kris Kukul, Amy is proud to present an evening of pop, music theater, rock, country, and candid storytelling. The show will feature some of the music that put her on the map, including "Don?t Stop Believing" from Rock of Ages, "Always True To You Darling In My Fashion" from Kiss Me, Kate, and "Come To Your Senses" from tick, tick...BOOM! She?ll also share some glamorous and not-as-glamorous tales as she reflects on the places she?s lived and people she?s lived with along the great white way, including a budding schizophrenic, a pair of cocaine enthusiasts, and a couple of husbands.

Network Trio: Charnett Moffett, Stanley Jordan & Jeff Tain Watts
Three giants of jazz: guitarist Stanley Jordan, bassist Charnett Moffett, and drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts team-up for an evening of inspired music making. Jordan's unique "touch technique" - an outgrowth of his classical piano background - conveys a broad orchestral palette far beyond that of conventional guitarists. Moffett is often lauded for his musical intuition and superb technical facility as a bassist of the highest caliber. Watts is instantly identifiable for his dynamic pyrotechnics and unique sound, one of the most influential drummers working today. The Nettwork trio draws influences from Moffett's deep discography.

The Keanettes
The Keanettes comprise of three sisters, Claire, Sally and Susan. Originally from Bonmahon, Co. Waterford, the girls have lived and worked in Dublin for the last 20 years. They have been involved in many musical escapades over the years including performing alongside Albert Lee (renowned British guitarist), his band Hogan's Heroes and Gavin Povey who produced their album. They have worked with Ben Prevo and continue to do so, performing in venues such as Bewley's Cafe Theatre and The United Arts Club in Dublin City. They have also made appearances on Irish television and the single 'Seminole Wind' from their 2011 album was featured on the National Radio Station RTE Radio 1 playlist for 6 weeks, and received great reviews. Expect to hear some lovely harmonies and some great classics, Irish standards and original songs.

Anika Larsen featuring Special guest Jessie Mueller & Jarrod Spector
Anika Larsen, the 2014 Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner currently starring on Broadway in Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, will introduce her debut solo CD Sing you to Sleep with a special concert at Birdland. Sing you to Sleep is a tuneful and personal album for adults and children alike, which Larsen recorded with her nine siblings and fourteen nieces and nephews in mind. Jessie Mueller, who won the 2014 Tony Award winner for playing Carole King in Beautiful, is featured on the album in a duet with her co-star for James Taylor's "You Can Close Your Eyes."

John Abercrombie Quartet
In a career spanning more than 40 years and nearly 50 albums, John Abercrombie has established himself as one of the masters of jazz guitar. A restless experimenter, working firmly in the jazz tradition while pushing the boundaries of harmony and texture, Abercrombie has performed live and recorded with a long list of jazz greats including Gil Evans, Chico Hamilton, Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield and Richie Beirach.

Peter Mazza
Peter Mazza is a jazz guitarist born and raised in NYC, who holds degrees from both the Manhattan School of Music and The Juilliard School. His first pivotal gig was leading a four-night-a week jam session at Augie's Jazz Bar (now called Smoke), where he played with Brad Mehldau, Roy Hargrove, Joel Frahm, Chris Potter, Donny McCaslin, Uri Cane, Christian McBride, Larry Grenadier, Dwayne Burno, Greg Hutchinson, Jeff Ballard and many others. Peter went on to gain acceptance to the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition and was a semifinalist. His groups have been featured at New York City jazz venues, such as Dizzy's Club, Birdland, The Knitting Factory and the Cornelia Street Café .

Anita Gillette in "So, As I Was Saying"
"So, As I Was Saying..." will include behind-the-scenes stories about the showbiz giants she's worked with, including Jule Styne, her mentor Irving Berlin, and memories of sleeping with Burt Lancaster's Oscar! Songs included will be "Everybody Says Don't," "It Never Was You," and "Just In Time."

Sheila Jordan with The Steve Kuhn Trio
Over a career of a half-century and counting, Steve Kuhn has earned renown as one of the most lyrical and affecting pianists in jazz, with an unfailingly beautiful touch and a sophisticated sense of swing. Sheila Jordan is not only one of the premier singers in jazz, but she is known for her stimulating vocal workshops as well. A superb scat singer, she can just as easily reach the emotional depths of a ballad. Whether singing well-known standards or original material, she makes it all sound like no one else.

Jazz Party with Natalie Douglas
Vocalist Natalie Douglas is a Nightlife Award, Backstage Bistro Award & seven-time MAC Award Winner, who The Times of London's Clive Davis called, "a true force of nature," in his Five Star review of her February 2014 London performance. In June, Natalie received The Mabel Mercer Foundation's 2014 Margaret Whiting award. Natalie and her trio kick off a Birdland residency with a special Birthday Edition of Jazz Party on January 18th.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party
Jim Caruso's Cast Party is a wildly popular weekly soiree that brings a sprinkling of Broadway glitz and urbane wit to the legendary Birdland in New York City every Monday night. Arturo O'Farrill Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra
Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill -- leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz" (NY Times) -- was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte.

Named for alto saxophonist and jazz pioneer Charlie "Bird" Parker who dubbed it "The Jazz Corner of the World," Birdland opened on December 15th 1949. For 60 years it has been home to jazz legends, from Parker, John Coltrane Duke Ellington and Count Basie to Oscar Peterson, Hank Jones, Diana Krall and everyone in between. The original 52nd street location was a cultural barometer and meeting place, inspiring the songs "Birdland" and "Lullaby of Birdland," and serving as a regular haunt for celebrities and cultural figures.
