American Idol host Ryan Seacrest appeared on this morning's TODAY show on NBC and vowed that he would never give up his gig on the long-running FOX singing competition.

"Not a chance," he said of the show returning for its 13th season this month, adding that he's "never" even considered quitting. "I'm so used to getting up each year and doing that show. And I love the process of going out and meeting somebody ... and if they've got the talent, seeing them become a star."

While waiting for the show to return to the airwaves, Seacrest revealed he has been learning how to figure skate with the help of gymnast-turned-skater Nina Kim. He evenr visited her in Seoul prior to the start of the Sochi Games to pick up some additional pointers.

"It didn't go so well," he admitted to TODAY's Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie. "It went well with her, but not the skating part. ... I assume you both have tried to figure skate, but it was the balance thing and the stopping thing that was an issue for me."

"American Idol" returns on January 15 on FOX.
