The winners of the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards were presented last night at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. At the event, Channing Tatum presented film director Roland Emmerich with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres presented Kerry Washington with GLAAD's Vanguard Award. At the event, which honors various branches of the media for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, GLEE star Alex Newell, who portrayed transgender character Wade "Unique" Adams on the FOX musical dramedy series, took to the stage to perform "I Know Where I've Been" from "Hairspray" and received a standing ovation from the audience.
