Gear up for an epic road trip alongside Travel Channel's culinary explorer, Andrew Zimmern, as he travels America's most iconic pathways in an all-new season of BIZARRE FOODS with Andrew Zimmern. Premiering Tuesday, January 31 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, each of the six hour-long episodes follows Zimmern along a historic route as he experiences America's multi-faceted history through the nation's diverse cuisines and flavors. Showcasing America's story through the "Bizarre Foods" lens, Zimmern makes stops on the Lewis and Clark trail, the Great Lakes coastline communities, the Southern barbeque belt, the Civil War antebellum trail, Route 66 and the Pacific Coast Highway.

"For me, traveling in the USA is all about the legendary trips that define our culture, from de Tocqueville to Huck and Finn to Kesey's Merry Pranksters," said Zimmern, who also serves as an executive producer on the series. "Our history can be defined by the sum total of our voyages, from north to south, and from sea to shining sea. It's thrilling for me see our country's great journeys, routes and pathways laid out for our fans with all the epic, historical sweep and the great adventure learning baked in to a classic 'Bizarre Foods' season."

Zimmern, a James Beard Award-winning TV personality, begins his journey in Oregon, uncovering indigenous foods of the Pacific Northwest as he travels in the footsteps of famed explorers Lewis and Clark. Embracing the spirit of the great adventurers who charted this course over 200 years ago, Zimmern engages in the activities and cuisines embedded in the region's history: he samples Pacific lampreys, goes salmon fishing on the Columbia River, forages for edible barnacles and harvests sea salt and clams.
