STAR TREK's Michael Ansara Dead at 91

Michael Ansara, best known for his portrayal of 'Kang,' leader of The Klingons on three separate STAR TREK television series, died at the age of 91 on July 31 at his home in Calabasas, his former publicist confirmed this afternoon.

Ansara got his start by appearing in a number of western series, including BROKEN Arrow on ABC and LAW OF THE PLAINSMAN on NBC. He went on to first play Kang in 1968 on the original STAR TREK series, as well as 1994's STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE and 1996's VOYAGER.

He also appeared in such films as JULIUS CAESAR, JUPITER'S DARLING, VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, and more.

Ansara married I DREAM OF JEANNIE star Barbara Eden in 1958. The pair later divorced in 1974.
