Photos: Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd Attend New York POWER BALLAD Screening

This week, Power Ballad arrived in New York, with a screening and Q&A for the new movie at the 92nd Street Y, a Tastemaker event and Q&A at the Roxy Cinema hosted by Sirius XM, and a New York Special Screening at the Regal Times Square.

Take a look at photos from the red carpet featuring stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Beth Fallon, Writer/Director John Carney, Producers Rebecca O’Flanagan and Robert Walpole, and Executive Producer Daniel Steinman.

Power Ballad tells the story of a past-his-prime wedding singer Rick (Rudd), who crosses paths with a fading boyband star, Danny (Jonas), during a gig. After the two bond over music and a late-night jam session, Danny turns one of Rick’s songs into a hit that reignites his career and Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he deserves, even if it means risking everything.

The movie is directed by John Carney (of Once and Sing Street fame), who co-wrote the screenplay with Peter McDonald, who also stars. The cast also includes Havana Rose Liu, Marcella Plunkett, and Jack Reynor. It premiered at the 2026 Dublin International Film Festival and SXSW Film Festival.

Power Ballad will be available in select theaters on May 29, before opening nationwide in theaters on June 5 from Lionsgate. The official soundtrack for the musical comedy Power Ballad will be released on May 29th via Republic Records / Abbey Road Recordings. Pre-save it HERE.
