Peter Reckell to Exit DAYS OF OUR LIVES

In a message posted on her Twitter account yesterday, Kelly Moneymaker confirmed rumors that her husband, DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Peter Reckell will exit the long-running NBC soap opera. "Hard to say goodbye to characters who've been on 4ever!! Hard 2 believe Bo will be one of those shortly!" , posted Moneymaker.

Reckell originated the role of Bo Brady in 1983. He went on to play the part from 1983 to 1987, 1990 to 1992, and from 1995 to the present. His other notable TV credits include Eric Hollister on As the World Turns (1980–1982) and Johnny Rourke on Knots Landing (1988–1989).

The actor's on-screen mate, Kristian Alfonso, recently signed a deal to continue with the NBC soap. Neither Reckell nor NBC has commented on when the actor will leave the show.
