Parker Posey Tries to Talk While Wearing Noise-Canceling Headphones
The bit put host and guest on an equal footing, with neither able to hear the other speak.

Parker Posey joined Jimmy Fallon for a segment built around a simple obstacle: trying to hold a conversation while dancing and wearing noise-cancelling headphones. The bit aired on THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING Jimmy Fallon, with the host and his guest attempting to communicate despite being unable to hear each other over the music blocked out by their headsets.
The format forced both Fallon and Posey to rely on exaggerated gestures, lip-reading guesses and mismatched responses as they tried to carry on a back-and-forth exchange without being able to hear a word the other said. The segment played the disconnect for laughs, with the pair dancing through the confusion rather than pausing to clarify what was actually being discussed.
THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 c on NBC, with full episodes streaming on Peacock. The silent disco setup gave Posey a non-traditional interview format in place of a standard sit-down conversation, with the visual gag of two people dancing and talking past each other standing in for the usual back-and-forth of a late-night chat.
