MEET THE PRESS WITH CHUCK TODD Wins Key Demo

"Meet the Press with Chuck Todd" (MTP) was the #1 most-watched Sunday show in the key demo this past Sunday, April 15, according to Nielsen Media Research data, handily beating ABC's "This Week," which led with an excerpt from its exclusive interview with former FBI Director James Comey.

Sunday's broadcast featured exclusive interviews with House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who endorsed Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as his successor, and Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) as well as former CIA Director and NBC News senior national security and intelligence analyst John Brennan.

MTP won in the demo most valued by news advertisers for its eighteenth straight broadcast, beating both ABC and CBS by double-digits. It was the only Sunday public affairs program to deliver more than one million demo viewers; 1.028 million A25-54 viewers tuned into the Sunday program - ten percent (+95,000) more than ABC "This Week" and +35 percent (+269,000) more than CBS' "Face the Nation." Week over week, MTP grew by +17 percent (+151,000). The program improved its lead over ABC by +32 percent (+23,000) and CBS by +61 percent (+102,000).

3.709 million total viewers tuned into MTP - the show's biggest audience in four weeks (since 3/11/2018) - with just one percent of viewers separating MTP from ABC. The show beat CBS, which only rates for the first 30 minutes of its hour-long broadcast, by seven percent (+257,000). Week over week, MTP grew by 11 percent (+370,000).

Season-to-date, MTP is the #1 most-watched Sunday show across-the-board, delivering its largest advantages over ABC and CBS in total viewers in six years (since 2011-2012). This is the third consecutive year in which MTP is #1 in the key demo.

MTP continues to dominate the influential Washington, D.C. market, outperforming its competition across the board by triple-digits and winning every Sunday with total viewers for three straight years (since March 22, 2015).

An additional 1.083 million total viewers and 292,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through rebroadcasts on NBC and MSNBC.

Tune into MSNBC's "MTP Daily" weekdays at 5 p.m. for more from moderator Chuck Todd, and follow the show on Facebook and on Twitter for the latest.
