Two-time Oscar nominee, and Golden Globe and Emmy winner James Woods will star in the highly-anticipated new Showtime drama series Ray Donovan in the recurring role of Patrick "Sully" Sullivan.
Living in his hometown of South Boston, Sully has a very complicated history with the Donovan family. The series marks a return to television for Woods, who last starred as the title character in the CBS drama series Shark.Woods will begin filming Ray Donovan next week in Los Angeles.
With over 70 major motion pictures, TV films and miniseries to his credit, Woods has distinguished himself as an acclaimed actor, producer and director. His performances have earned him two Academy Award nominations - Best Actor for Salvador and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Ghosts Of Mississippi - as well as four Emmy nominations and two Emmy wins for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries for his work in Promise and My Name Is Bill W. Woods has also been nominated ten times for a Golden Globe, winning the award for Promise. Some of his other memorable roles include those in Once Upon a Time In America, Against All Odds, Casino, True Believer, The Virgin Suicides, Pretty Persuasion, Kung Fu Panda 2 and Straw Dogs. Upcoming projects include jOBS and Roland Emmerich's White House Down. Among his additional television credits are the movies Rudy: The Rudy Giuliani Story, Citizen Cohn and Indictment: The McMartin Trial, all of which earned him Emmy Award nominations, and guest-starring roles in ER and Entourage. Woods also starred in the critically-acclaimed and award-winning Showtime movie Dirty Pictures, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV.Videos
