HGTV will celebrate the holidays California style when it opens its "HGTV Holiday House" at Santa Monica Place in Santa Monica, Calif. on Saturday, November 23. The shopping and lifestyle center plays home to the exclusive HGTV Holiday House-a modern day, life-size gingerbread house that will serve as Santa's home in Center Plaza through New Year's Day. The themed Holiday House will offer consumers an opportunity to enter the HGTV HOME Holiday Cash Giveaway for a chance to win $10,000, meet popular network talent and to take photos with Santa.

"Santa Monica Place, with its open-air location just blocks from the beach, offers a modern, sophisticated shopping experience in an iconic Southern California location," said Denise Conroy, HGTV's senior Vice president of marketing and creative. "We are excited to host a one-of-a kind entertainment attraction for thousands of holiday shoppers with the HGTV Holiday House and the HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom."

Beginning on Black Friday, November 29, HGTV will offer entertaining activities at the Holiday House that range from classic traditions, such as sampling hot cocoa and cookies, to tacky sweater contests and more during themed talent appearances by David Bromstad (HGTV Star), John Gidding (HGTV Dream Home 2014), Genevieve Gorder (HGTV Star), Casey Noble (2013 Holiday House), DIY Network's Josh Temple (House Crashers) and HGTV Magazine editor in chief, Sara Peterson.

During the festivities, families are invited to take photos with Santa through Christmas Eve, and on Monday, Dec. 2, 9 and 16; pets can get their photos taken with St. Nick. The Holiday House also offers kid-friendly activities like coloring, as well as a spectacular holiday light show on The Hour starting at 6 p.m. In addition, visitors can snap photos in HGTV's custom holiday "winter sledding" photo experience.

"Santa Monica Place is an award-winning property that continues to attract shoppers from all over the world, which makes it an ideal venue for HGTV to showcase its newest concepts," said Ken Volk, senior Vice president, chief marketing officer, for Macerich, which owns and operates Santa Monica Place. "More and more, great brands are recognizing that malls deliver perfect audiences and stellar settings to exhibit their concepts, and HGTV is an excellent example of this."

Consumers also are invited to visit the HGTV HOME Pop-Up Showroom to experience a complimentary design consultation and view the HGTV HOME Furniture Collection, HGTV HOME Design Studio at Bassett, HGTV HOME Lighting by ELK Lighting, HGTV HOME Flooring by Shaw, HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams and HGTV HOME Plant Collection curated by Agricola Management. The showroom, a 2,000 sq. ft. space located on the mall's second level outside Nordstrom, will showcase the beautifully designed products in the HGTV HOME collection -- from paint, flooring and furniture to lighting, accessories and plants. Visitors also can rest and recharge their phones at a special lounge space outside the showroom that's filled with HGTV HOME sofas, furnishings and TV that feature popular HGTV programming.

From Thursday, Dec. 26, to Wednesday, Jan. 1, HGTV celebrates Santa's post-holiday vacation at the Holiday House with themes from the network's new series, Hawaii Life. Designer Genevieve Gorder will host a special luau on Saturday, Dec. 28, and Sunday, Dec. 29, and shoppers also can take part in a Hawaiian-themed photo experience.
