Great American Country, with its fresh all-American lifestyle positioning, has seen ratings growth of 23 percent among P25-54 viewers versus first quarter last year. Capitalizing on its viewership gains, the network will debut 150 hours of new, original programming in 2014, including the premieres of Highway Cowboys and Junk Gypsies coming in July.

Highway Cowboys, set deep in the wilds of Texas, follows a deadly epidemic sweeping through cattle country. Loose livestock become a lethal threat when they find themselves on the highways and byways of the Lone Star State. It's life and death, and authorities are turning to the only experts who can handle the job: the Highway Cowboys. The 14 hour-long episodes focus on the brave men tasked with clearing the roads of wild animals. The stakes are high and this job is without question one of America's dirtiest!

"Highway Cowboys is a lively, exciting series that is beautifully shot and features heroic characters," said Steven Lerner, senior Vice president of programming and development for Great American Country, and its sister networks, HGTV and DIY Network. "It celebrates an American way of life that appeals to our viewers, who are hard workers themselves and have strong American values."

The self-proclaimed Junk Gypsies are Amie Sikes and Jolie Sikes, who combine rebellious, independent spirit with a unique, funky style, out on a mission to convert discarded trash into something unexpected and fun. In each of the eight half-hour episodes, the ladies apply their unique design outlook to running their flagship Junk Gypsy Store, launching a line of teen furniture and opening an inn in small-town Texas, all while raising busy families.

Viewers know the Junk Gypsies best from HGTV and the successful encores of those episodes on Great American Country. The network will put its own point of view and direction on the series, now in production.

"Junk Gypsies is yet another example of how our viewers gravitate to our programming focused on authentic and uniquely American experiences surrounding home, family, travel, food, hobbies and the like," said Lerner. "These series are just two in our line-up aimed at reaching a desirable consumer segment - those who have an unwavering pride for country and the lifestyle associated with it, and who have disposable income to boot."
