They will join Dustin Hoffman, Kathy Bates and Garrett Wareing in the cast. The film, set to be directed by Francois Girard, will feature an original script by Ben Ripley.

In BOYCHOIR, "Hoffman will play Choir Master Carvelle, who runs the boys choir school on the East Coast. The story follows a troubled and angry 11-year-old named Stet who is sent off to the school."

Bates will take on the role of the school's headmistress. Newcomer Garrett Wareing will portray Stet. Lucas will play Stet's estranged father, while McHale will be a young teacher who supports Stet.

Izzard will take on the role of Carvelle's "right hand" (the role was originally set to be played by Alfred Molina, who recently withdrew due to scheduling issues). Winger will play the principal at Stet's Texas school. Joe West and River Alexander will also appear in the ensemble as students.
