"We are excited to extend our coverage of the 2017 World Baseball Classic to ESPN2," said Freddy Rolon, Vice President and General Manager, ESPN Deportes. "Baseball is one of the most popular sports among Latinos and the World Baseball Classic provides us with a unique opportunity to showcase the love and passion Latino players and fans alike have for the game."

Team USA advanced to its first World Baseball Classic championship after defeating previously unbeaten Japan 2-1 in its semifinal game Tuesday night. They will face Puerto Rico, the tournament's runner up in the 2013 WBC, who advanced to the final after a 4-3 victory over the Netherlands.
