CBS THIS MORNING delivered CBS' closest competitive position to NBC and ABC in the morning news race in at least 29 years, according to Nielsen most current ratings for the 2016-2017 broadcast year. CBS THIS MORNING posted its two best broadcast year morning news audience levels in network's history for 2015-16 and 2016-17.

NBC's "Today" closed the 2016-17 broadcast year with its lowest audience level in 26 years (1990-1991) and ABC with its lowest since 2009-10.

For the broadcast year, CBS THIS MORNING delivered 3.57 million viewers and a 0.8/07 with adults 25-54 - the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news.

CBS THIS MORNING has dramatically reduced the gap with the "Today" show from more than 3 million when it launched in 2012 just 647,000 now. The margin between CBS and either NBC or ABC hasn't been this close since at least 1987.

CBS THIS MORNING launched Jan. 9, 2012, and each weekday morning, Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell deliver two hours of original reporting, breaking news and top-level newsmaker interviews in an engaging and informative format that challenges the norm in network morning news programs. The broadcast has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, a Polk Award, three News & Documentary Emmys, three Daytime Emmys and the 2017 Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. The broadcast was also honored with an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award as part of CBS News division-wide coverage of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.

Ryan Kadro is the executive producer of CBS THIS MORNING and CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY.
