CBS EVENING NEWS Posts Best Q2 Deliveries

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted the Network's best second quarter deliveries in both viewers and households since 2007, according to the most current Nielsen ratings. In second quarter 2013, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY added +470,000 viewers and posted gains among viewers (+8%, 6.12m from 5.65m) and households (+8%, 4.2/09 from 3.9/08) compared to second quarter 2012.
In second quarter 2013, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY cut the viewer deficit with both NBC and ABC by more than 300,000 viewers compared to second quarter 2012. The CBS broadcast is in its closest competitive position with NBC in viewers in a second quarter in six years (since second quarter 2007) and with ABC in seven years (since second quarter 2006). For the week ending June 28, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is the only network evening news broadcast to post year-to-year percentage gains among viewers (+7%, 6.07m from 5.68m) and households (+8%, 4.1/08 from 3.8/08), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY also gained +390,000 viewers and closed the viewer deficit with ABC by 674,000 viewers (from 1.27m to 594,000) compared to the same week last year.
