CBSN, CBS News' 24/7 digital streaming news service featuring live, anchored coverage, set a new weekly viewership record from Sunday, July 17 through Saturday, July 23, beating prior records set for breaking news and debate coverage. CBSN drew a record 7.6 million streams for its on-the-ground reporting and analysis throughout the Republican National Convention, as well as its breaking news coverage during the week.

Additionally, CBSN's engagement levels were high throughout the week, particularly on Thursday, when viewers watched for 57 minutes per session, on average, on connected TVs. CBSN's average viewing sessions were longest on Apple TV, where viewers watched for 95 minutes per session, on average, throughout the four days of the convention. CBS News just launched a new Apple TV app designed exclusively for tvOS, featuring a new user interface that spotlights CBSN's always-on, original streaming news coverage.

"During a week when viewers had many choices for live streaming video from the convention, we saw record demand for our wall-to-wall coverage and original reporting," said Christy Tanner, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CBS News Digital.

"CBSN viewership continues to grow and we look forward to another strong week at the Democratic National Convention," said Nancy Lane, Senior Executive Producer, CBS News Digital.

Josh Elliott, Elaine Quijano and Vladimir Duthiers will again anchor CBSN's live coverage from Philadelphia, with primetime coverage beginning at 7:00 PM, ET each night. Coverage spans from inside to outside the convention hall to give audiences deep reporting on the events and issues involved in the nominating process. CBSN will also again stream its gavel-to-gavel coverage from the Democratic National Convention live on Twitter, in addition to CBSNews.com and the CBS News apps for mobile and connected TV devices.
