BEAUTY IN BLACK Star Bailey Tippen Talks Season 3 and ROUTE 187
Tippen stars opposite Taylor Polidore Williams and joins a cast including Chris Livingston and Elijah Collins.
Actress Bailey Tippen continues an active slate of projects, including the highly anticipated Season 3 of Netflix's hit drama 'Beauty in Black,' scheduled to return August 27th. The show's release comes in anticipation of Tippen's other projects set to release this year, including Paramount+'s upcoming series 'Route 187,' airing on the streaming platform on September 16th.
Tippen reprises her pivotal role as Sylvie in Tyler Perry's hit drama 'Beauty in Black,' a character whose emotional storyline has become an integral part of the series, occasionally being the catalyst for much of the drama in the show. Introduced as the younger sister of Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, Sylvie quickly became a fan favorite as audiences watched her navigate one of the show's most powerful and heartbreaking storylines.
All parts of 'Beauty in Black' (Both in Season 1 and Season 2) were continuously ranked among Netflix's Top 10 shows, cementing itself as one of the platform's breakout successes. Part 1 of the series, which premiered on October 24, 2024, debuted at #1 and quickly amassed over 8.7 million views, remaining in the Top 10 for consecutive weeks. Part 1 also held the coveted #1 spot across 28 countries. Part 1 of Season 2 set the stakes even higher, dethroning Netflix's 'Wednesday' as a top-watched show. Produced by Tyler Perry, 'Beauty in Black' also stars Taylor Polidore Williams (Kimmie), Crystle Stewart (Mallory), Amber Reign Smith (Rain), Xavier Smalls (Angel), Charles Malik Whitfield (Jules), Debbi Morgan (Olivia) and more.
Expanding her résumé, Tippen will also appear in Paramount+'s upcoming original drama 'Route 187,' further showcasing her versatility as an actress. The highly anticipated series adds another major streaming credit to her body of work as she continues to establish herself as one of television's promising young talents. The four-part mystery drama follows the reaction a community has to the brutal murders of a bus driver and high school student, including an investigation that uncovers more information regarding disappearances of local Black women. Chris Livingston (DOWN BELOW), Elijah Collins ('Landman'), Tonia Jackson ('Outer Banks'), Rico Ball (BET's 'Divorced Sistas'), Lawrence Robinson ('The Pitt'), Rona Dana ('Meet the Browns'), Cuyle Carvin (DISCLOSURE DAY), and more round out the cast.
Tippen can also be found in other projects including her role as Klina 'Tina' in STARZ's acclaimed series 'BMF,' executively produced by Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson. The series has been renewed for a fourth season and has received multiple award nominations, including Hollywood Music in Media Awards and a Black Reel Award.
Her versatility is further showcased in BET+'s First Wives Club as Megan, the rebellious daughter of a senator, and in fan-favorite appearances across DC's 'Legends of Tomorrow' (CW), 'Constantine' (NBC), 'Sleepy Hollow' (FOX), THE WATSONS GO TO BIRMINGHAM (Hallmark Channel), and 'Underground' (WGN America). She also starred in OWN's COOKING UP CHRISTMAS, one of the network's original holiday releases.
