The ABC evening newscast has turned in year-to-year increases for the last 17 weeks. "World News Tonight" was up on the previous week (1.832 million and 1.215 million, respectively, on w/o 8/17/15) in Adults 25-54 (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+4%), delivering its best news demo performance in 5 weeks - since w/o 7/20/15. Season to date, "World News Tonight" is averaging 477,000 more viewers, compared to the same time frame last season (8.326 million vs. 7.849 million), while "NBC Nightly News" is posting a 200,000 average loss (8.687 million vs. 8.887 million). For the 2nd year in a row, "World News Tonight" is improving versus the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%).
