ABC's WORLD NEWS Grows Year-to-Year in Total Viewers for 17th Week

ABC News' "World News Tonight with David Muir" averaged 7.647 million Total Viewers, 1.872 million Adults 25-54 and 1.263 million Adults 18-49 for the week of August 24, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
"World News Tonight" improved on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+4% - 7.647 vs. 7.383 million on w/o 8/25/14). The ABC evening newscast has turned in year-to-year increases for the last 17 weeks. "World News Tonight" was up on the previous week (1.832 million and 1.215 million, respectively, on w/o 8/17/15) in Adults 25-54 (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+4%), delivering its best news demo performance in 5 weeks - since w/o 7/20/15. Season to date, "World News Tonight" is averaging 477,000 more viewers, compared to the same time frame last season (8.326 million vs. 7.849 million), while "NBC Nightly News" is posting a 200,000 average loss (8.687 million vs. 8.887 million). For the 2nd year in a row, "World News Tonight" is improving versus the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+1%). In fact, "World News Tonight" is improving the most in Total Viewers and standing as the only evening newscast to grow in Adults 25-54 compared to "CBS Evening News" (+3%/-2%) and "NBC Nightly News" (-2%/-5%).Videos
