In fact, the ABC evening newscast has improved week to week in 3 of the last 4 weeks and year to year in the last 3 weeks.
Among Adults 18-49, "World News" beat "NBC Nightly News" twice during a course of a week for the 2nd week in a row, ranking No. 1 on Wednesday (+129,000) and Friday (+14,000). In fact, in the last three weeks, "World News" has beaten "Nightly News" in 7 of their 15 head-to-head telecasts. "World News" continues to narrow the viewing margins with "NBC Nightly News" in key measures. Last week it slashed more than 3/4 of its year-to-year margins with "NBC Nightly News" in both Total Viewers (-83%, 518,000 vs. 3.00 million) and Adults 25-54 (-77%, 246,000 vs. 1.07 million). Season to date, "World News" has increased its Total Viewing audience (+2%) compared to the same point last season, drawing its most-watched season in 2 years - since the 2010-11 season.
