ABC Wins With IDOL Finishing as TV's No. 1 Unscripted Series for the 3rd Straight Week

ABC Sunday Prime Time (7:00-11:00 p.m. - 6.2 million and 1.3/6 in AD18-49):
Featuring a live "American Idol" broadcast across the country, ABC once again led Sunday by wide margins in Adults 18-49 (1.3/6), beating CBS and FOX by 86% each (0.7/3-tied) and more than doubling NBC (+117% - 0.6/3). "American Idol" finished as Sunday's definitive No. 1 TV show with Adults 18-49 (1.7 rating), ranking as the evening's top broadcast entertainment series in all 10 of its airings this spring on ABC.In fact, ABC's "American Idol" is currently TV's No. 1 unscripted show, topping both editions of NBC's "The Voice" for the 3rd consecutive Nielsen week in Adults 18-49.

  • ABC's Sunday prime-time performance shot up over the year-ago night with an all-original schedule, including the "OUAT" season finale, by 121% in Total Viewers (6.2 million 2.8 million) and by 63% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/6 vs. 0.8/3). In fact, fueled by "Idol's" momentum on the night, ABC is now up 15% for the 2017-18 season on Sunday with Adults 18-49.

"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m. - 5.7 million and 1.2/6 in AD18-49):
In the 7 o'clock hour, ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" advanced week to week in Total Viewers (+8% - 5.7 million vs. 5.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (+20% - 1.2/6 vs. 1.0/5), drawing its biggest audience in 4 weeks and tying its highest young adult number since the beginning of 2018- since 4/15/18 and 1/7/18, respectively

"American Idol" FAST NATIONAL (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 8.5 million and 1.7 rating in AD 18-49):
From 8:00-10:01 p.m., ABC's "American Idol" won its 2-hour slot and held steady with its week-earlier Fast National ratings in Total Viewers (8.5 million vs. 8.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.7 rating vs. 1.8 rating).

"Deception" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.5 million and 0.7/3 in AD18-49):
In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Deception" stood as the No. 1 drama in its slot for the 3rd week in a row with Adults 18-49 (0.7/3), besting NBC's "Timeless" finale by 17% (0.6/2) and CBS' "Madam Secretary" by 17% (0.6/2). The ABC drama grew 9% week to week with Total Viewers (3.5 million vs. 3.3 million) and held even in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3).
