ABC News THIS WEEK is Number 1 in Total Viewers

On August 17, 2014, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked No. 1 in both Total Viewers (3.021 million) and Adults 25-54 (1.001 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. "This Week" has ranked No. 1 in the key adult news demo in 10 of the last 12 weeks.

"This Week" outdelivered NBC's "Meet the Press" by 360,000 Total Viewers and CBS' "Face the Nation" by 81,000 Total Viewers. "This Week" has drawn a larger overall audience than the NBC program for the 8th straight week.

In Adults 25-54, "This Week" led NBC's "Meet the Press" by its largest news demo margin since March (+266,000 on 3/23/14) and CBS' "Face the Nation" by its biggest advantage since June (+246,000 on 6/1/14).

"This Week" scored double-digit increases week to week (2.633 million and 829,000, respectively on 8/10/14) in both Total Viewers (+15%) and Adults 25-54 (+21%) to deliver its largest overall audience in 2 months and best news demo performance in 5 months - since 6/8/14 and 3/23/14, respectively. In addition, "This Week" was up the most in both measures compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (+1%/-2%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (+10%/-2%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+8%/+9%).

"This Week" surged on its year-ago telecast in Total Viewers (+32%) and Adults 25-54 (+53%) - 2.286 million and 654,000, respectively on 8/18/13. The ABC public affairs program has turned in year-to-year improvement in both measures in 7 of the last 8 weeks. "This Week" also grew the most in Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+21%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (+12%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+30%).

Season to date, "This Week" is up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+16%) versus its year-ago season averages. "This Week" is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years - since the 2008-09 season. In addition, "This Week" is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+2%/+1%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-5%/-6%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+4%/-9%).

In addition, "This Week" leads NBC's "Meet the Press" this season in both Total Viewers (+204,000) and Adults 25-54 (+68,000), leading the NBC program by its largest Total Viewer advantage in 18 years and biggest in the key adult news demo in 21 years - since the 1995-96 and the 1992-93 seasons, respectively.
