ABC News THIS WEEK Ranks as #1 Public Affairs Program

On September 14, 2014, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked as No. 1 public affairs program on Sunday in Adults 25-54 (947,000),according to Nielsen Media Research. "This Week" has ranked No. 1 in the key adult news demo in 13 of the last 16 weeks.

"This Week" outperformed week 2 of NBC's Chuck Todd-moderated "Meet the Press" (2.589 million and 668,000, respectively) by 300,000 Total Viewers and by 279,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "This Week" scored its largest new demo lead over "Meet the Press" in 6 months - since 3/16/14.

"This Week" posted double-digit improvement week to week (2.505 million and 774,000, respectively on 9/7/14) in both Total Viewers (+15%) and Adults 25-54 (+22%). "This Week" grew the most over the previous week compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (+10%/+20%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-13%/-19%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-4%/+18%).

For the 6th time in the last 7 weeks, "This Week" built on it year-ago Sunday performance (2.690 million and 683,000, respectively, on 9/15/13) in both Total Viewers (+7%) and Adults 25-54 (+39%). Surging on the year-ago Sunday, the ABC public affairs program improved the mostyear-to-year in the key adult new demo versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+9%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-8%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+20%).

Season to date, "This Week" is up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+16%) versus its year-ago season averages. "This Week" is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years - since the 2008-09 season. In addition, "This Week" is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+2%/+1%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-5%/-5%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+5%/-9%).

"This Week" also leads NBC's "Meet the Press" this season in both Total Viewers (+201,000) and Adults 25-54 (+74,000), beating the NBC program in Total Viewers for the first timein 17 years and leading by its largest key adult news demo advantage in 21 years - since the 1996-97 and the 1992-93 seasons, respectively.
