CULINARY PROGRAMS FOR FALL AND WINTER
It's All About The Moonshine, Changed Ambiance and New Menu at Georgia's Bistro
Respecting the Southern beverage tradition of handcrafted moonshine and the art of the perfectly prepared cocktail, Georgia's Bistro Moonshine Menu delivers the real deal.
When the restaurant's mixologists create "Midnight Train to Georgia" they incorporate Midnight Moon Moonshine, Limoncello, cucumbers, mint, lemon and lime. "Peach Melba" pleases with Old Smokey Peach Moonshine, raspberry, thyme and green tea; and "'Shine Cocktail" is made using Old Smokey Cherry Moonshine and Coca-Cola. A luxury Georgia getaway is all about sampling some of the region's finest moonshine alongside the most beautiful lake in the state.
Guests enjoying the Moonshine Menu will especially like these drinks and others as they select dining options from a new menu in Georgia's Bistro reinvigorated dining room with its fireside dining, communal table and more traditional seating options. Tempting fares include: Low Country Crab, Mussels, Shrimp & Crawfish Boil with Andouille Sausage, Housemade Breads and Georgia's Bistro Signature Buttermilk Pie.
Cooking Classes and Activities That Celebrate The Season
Weekly cooking classes will be held at Georgia's Bistro on Saturdays at 2 p.m. with content changing monthly. In October, Chef Aaron Baxendale shows his respect for The Great Pumpkin as he creates dishes using locally grown pumpkins from the patch. Resort guests will derive even more pumpkin pleasures as they snack on Secret Spiced Pumpkin Seeds and sip Pumpkin Pie Martinis in the Lobby. Pumpkin carvings delight the entire family on Saturdays.
November brings Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice as Pastry Chef Ashley Nakano focuses on seasonal desserts just in time for Thanksgiving and beyond. Special cocktails highlighting the yumminess of sugar, spice and everything nice are offered all month.
Cooking classes are $20 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity. Price includes food tastings and a glass of wine. Please call 706-467-7059 for reservations.
Complimentary Thursday Sessions with Bar Chefs at Linger Longer Steakhouse
If it's Thursday at five, then it's time to visit Linger Longer Lounge to appreciate the luxury resort's bar chefs performing their craft blending luscious seasonal ingredients with premium liquors to concoct unforgettable beverage masterpieces. Then participants work with these maestros to create their own signature drink. And everyone samples the specialty cocktail of the day.
SPA TREATMENTS INSPIRED BY ICONIC LAKESIDE CAMPFIRES
Known for its full-of-fun, nightly campfires and outstanding retro s'more roasting, The
Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation prides itself on its seasonal treatments for relaxing Georgia spa getaways. This season, three signature treatments take their inspiration from Lake Oconee traditional campfires.
S'mores Body Glow - Begins with a whipped honey graham scrub followed by a drizzling of warm, dark chocolate softening serum and finishes with a waterfall rinse under the Vichy shower with a sweet, fluffy moisture cream and application. The added bonus is a complete S'mores Kit to be used and enjoyed at the nightly campfire. 50 minutes, $165; 80 minutes with massage, $215.
Cider and Cinnamon Pedicure and a Cup of Hot Cider - A seasonal treat for the feet. It starts with a fizzy, hot cider soak, includes a foot glazing of honey, aloe and papaya and an application of red-hot cinnamon oil before the primp and polish. The soothing cider is to be sipped during this luxurious treatment. 50 minutes, $85.
Down and Dirty Facial - Designed to leave skin glowing and the complexion refined, the facial begins with a whippEd Shea sugar polish. Then an organic pumpkin puree is applied to increase oxygenation and circulation. The final touch is a pumpkin latte moisturizer. 50 minutes, $145.
