MAMMA MIA!, THE MAGIC FLUTE, And Dance DTLA Set for The Music Center Summer 2026 Lineup
BALANCENOW: SUPERSTARS OF PARIS featuring Hugo Marchand headlines alongside free Dance DTLA nights at Jerry Moss Plaza
The Music Center has announced its Summer 2026 season, featuring a range of performances, participatory events, and free programming across its Downtown Los Angeles campus.
The lineup will include dance, theatre, music, and community events taking place at venues including the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Ahmanson Theatre, and Jerry Moss Plaza.
Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center: NEW YORK CITY BALLET
The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will host the return of New York City Ballet for the first time in more than 20 years, with programs featuring works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Ulysses Dove, Justin Peck, Tiler Peck, Gianna Reisen, and Christopher Wheeldon.
Performances will take place June 24–28, 2026, with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. and matinees on select dates.
The Music Center’s ¡DALE! Fútbol Watch Party
A free World Cup Watch Party will be held at Jerry Moss Plaza, featuring Spain vs. Uruguay, along with food options, art-making activities, and a post-game dance party.
The event will take place Friday, June 26 from 5:00–7:00 p.m.
The Music Center’s Dance DTLA
Dance DTLA will return for its 22nd season, offering free weekly beginner dance lessons followed by social dancing.
Events will take place on Friday nights June 26; July 10, 17, 24, and 31; and August 7 and 14.
Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center: BALLETNOW
BalletNOW: Superstars of Paris featuring Hugo Marchand & Friends will be presented at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
Performances will take place July 31 through August 2, 2026.
Live at The Music Center
A free outdoor concert will take place at Jerry Moss Plaza as part of the Live at The Music Center series.
The event is scheduled for August 15, 2026 at 8:00 p.m.
Ongoing Programs
The Music Center will offer free campus tours led by volunteer docents, available Tuesdays through Sundays. The Digital Arts Space will host Life in Motion, an interactive installation running through June 28.
Gloria Molina Grand Park will host Wellness Breaks yoga sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays, along with special “Wild Card” events, and the Summer Block Party on July 4. Sunday Sessions will return July 19 and August 16.
PRIMARY TRUST
At the Mark Taper Forum, Primary Trust will run May 20 through June 28, following a bookstore worker navigating unexpected life changes.
MAMMA MIA!
At the Ahmanson Theatre, Mamma Mia! will run June 23 through July 19, featuring the music of ABBA and a story centered on family and identity.
MUSE/IQUE Presents DEFIANTLY JONI
MUSE/IQUE will present Defiantly Joni, a concert celebrating the music of Joni Mitchell, at the Mark Taper Forum with performances scheduled July 1–19.
THE MAGIC FLUTE
LA Opera will present The Magic Flute at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, with performances scheduled May 30 through June 21.
RENÉE FLEMING IN RECITAL
Renée Fleming will perform in recital at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on June 13, 2026.
Sounds of France
At Walt Disney Concert Hall, Sounds of France will feature works by André Jolivet and Gabriel Fauré as part of the summer programming.
