The Music Center has announced an electrifying lineup of global music artists for its third annual Summer SoundWaves outdoor summer concert series. From Tropical Latin and Afro-Mexican rhythms to West African beats and Jazz Fusion, The Music Center's Summer SoundWaves will bring the heat to The Music Center all summer long.

Complexions Contemporary Ballet returns to The Music Center, L.A.’s only performing arts center, with performances from June 16–18, 2023, as part of the 20th dance season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center.

The Music Center and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater jointly announced that the esteemed New York-based dance company, adored by Los Angeles audiences for more than two decades, will perform for four consecutive years at The Music Center's iconic Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, beginning with the 2023–2024 season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center.

Last night, May 1, The Entertainment Community Fund celebrated distinguished philanthropist Glorya Kaufman; Head of Orion Pictures, film executive and producer Alana Mayo; Tony and Olivier Award-winning producer, activist and President of Tom Kirdahy Productions Tom Kirdahy; and actor, director, screenwriter, producer, playwright, author, philanthropist and Founder of Tyler Perry Studios Tyler Perry.

Los Angeles-based Blue13 Dance Company has been performing internationally for over 20 years, with their highly energetic modern dance style inspired by a variety of art forms native to the Indian subcontinent. On May 12-13, Blue 13 will be presenting a selection of five dances at The Wallis in Beverly Hills. I decided to speak with Blue 13's Artistic director, Achinta S. McDaniel (pictured) about her vision for these selections, especially how she plans to invite the audience to participate immersively and plans to address the current hot topics of invisible disability and addiction.

On Friday, May 12, 2023 at 7:30pm and Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 7:30pm, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts will present Los Angeles-based Blue13 Dance Company.

Hillsborough Community College's Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Series presents Vic's Mix performed by Montreal-based RUBBERBAND Dance on February 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre on the Ybor City Campus.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC) will present the second programs of its 45th anniversary season: Elements, featuring several World and Company Premieres and acclaimed revivals. The 2022/23 Season 45: Sapphire Season continues with HSDC's Spring Series at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (220 E. Chicago Ave.) which will run March 23–April 2 with two mixed repertory performances, each performed four times. 

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) has announced an extension for the world premiere musical Cornelia Street. The production, which will begin performances this Friday, January 20th and open on Tuesday, February 14th, will now play through Sunday, March 5th, Off-Broadway at Atlantic Stage 2.

Visions and Voices, USC's premiere arts and humanities program, will present the acclaimed New York-based contemporary dance company A.I.M by Kyle Abraham at historic Bovard Auditorium on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
