John Parr Bio Few musicians from England have made such a mark on America as John Parr has. Calling America his second home, he has spent decades building a successful career and winning over fans from one end of the country to the other. His career started years ago, and he still continues to delight fans domestically. As a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, he has enjoyed a long and successful career as a musician in America. Parr, who is a native of England, first found fame in America with the song he is probably best known for, “St. Elmo’s Fire (Man in Motion),” the popular 80's tune that he wrote and performed. With the help of this song, ICORD has helped raise over a quarter of a billion dollars for spinal injury research. John Parr's song Naughty Naughty in 1984 was on the “Hot One Hundred” Billboard Chart hitting number 1 in Kansas then Detroit then eventually going number 1 across the States. In all, Naughty Naughty stayed on the chart for 6 months. Throughout his career, Parr has savored a wide range of experiences. Having sold more than 10 million albums, he has worked with a variety of top industry names, including Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, Meatloaf, Journey, Richard Marx, the Beach Boys, Celine Dion among others. He has also collaborated on song writing with such people as Mutt Lange, Harold Faltermeyer, Marvin Hamlisch, David Foster and Roger Daltrey. July 4 2011: Released his new double album “Letter To America”. August 2 2011: Signed with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. September 2011: Wrapped-up an extensive 35 city media tour that spanned the United States. September 2011: Solidified his Military Tour that will cover numerous bases in the winter of 2011. October 7 2011: Presented a special performance as a gift to this years honorees at the “Salute to Freedom Military Gala”. October 11 2011: Writes and performs a special song for Quarterback Tim Tebow live on ESPN. This song gets picked up by ESPN for the entire 2011/2012 Football Season. October 2011: The USO of North Carolina makes John Parr an ambassador of their organization. November 5 2011: John performs at “Homeless for a Night” & helps raise over $15,000.00 for homeless families in Gastonia NC. November 24 2011: Performs a special concert for Military families at “The Charlotte Motor Speedway” on Thanksgiving Day. December 10 2011: John Parr’s first Sam Ash Music & School of Rock mentoring and inspiring musical event in Charlotte, NC. January 2012: John Parr's song "Tim Tebow's Fire" goes viral with the Media and Internet reaching over a million hits! January 2012: John Parr announces the album release of “The Best Of John Parr” that will be distributed worldwide in the summer of 2012. February 2012: John Parr announces his Military Album release “The Mission” that will drop in June 2012. March 2012: John Parr begins his 2012 tour that will include dates all over the US as well as the UK. March 2012: Rock Band Game commits to 4 of John Parr’s songs for download on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox. March 2012: NFL Network will feature John Parr during a Tim Tebow special, summer 2012. March 2012: John Parr signs on to be a featured guest at Night of Superstars in Dallas Texas May 19th 2012. This event honors and benefits kids who are disabled. April 2012: USA Cares, signs John Parr as a Spokesperson for their organization. June 2012: Rock Band Game commits to 14 additional songs “the entire The Mission album” of John Parr’s to be featured on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox. July 2012: John Parr releases his Military/Patriotic album “The Mission”. July 2012: Walmart announces that they will feature “The Mission” in their stores starting August 7th. August 2012: Walmart places “The Mission” album on Walmart.com.
