To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Tegan and Sara's classic 2007 album, The Con, Warner Bros. Records will release The Con X: Covers on October 20. The vinyl edition will be available December 22. The new album features 14 of Tegan and Sara's favorite artists, each interpreting a song from the original album. See below for track listing.

The pre-order for The Con X: Covers will launch on Tuesday, September 19, at Tegan and Sara's online store and other digital retailers. Fans who pre-order the digital album will receive bonus digital tracks by Cyndi Lauper, Bleached, Vivek Shraya and Tegan and Sara on October 20.

Warner Bros. Records will be donating net album proceeds to the Tegan and Sara Foundation. A portion of the proceeds from Tegan and Sara's The Con X: Tour will also benefit the foundation.

Tegan says, "As the 10th anniversary of The Con approached, Sara and I started to brainstorm meaningful ways to celebrate what was easily one of our most important records. Almost immediately we established that a tour playing all 14 songs in a more intimate and stripped-down arrangement would be memorable for our diehard fans. But we also wanted a companion piece that would live on past the anniversary, hence The Con X: Covers album was born.

"We wanted the proceeds to go to our recently launched Tegan and Sara Foundation, which raises money for self-identified women and girls in the LGBTQ community. With that intention set, we asked 14 artists who were either outspoken allies of the LGTBQ community or LGBTQ themselves to each cover a song from The Con, in any fashion they saw fit. All the artists agreed to donate their time and energy to the project and their labels all agreed to waive their fees as well. We are beyond grateful for the contributions of each artist, and we hope fans of The Con will be moved by their interpretations."

The Con X: Tour kicks off on October 20 at Balboa Theatre in San Diego, CAand will include shows at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles (October 23 & 24), Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY (November 8) and Paramount in Austin, TX (November 15 & 16). The Con- which Tegan and Sara co-produced with Chris Walla, a founding member of Death Cab for Cutie - was both an artistic and commercial breakthrough. It was Tegan and Sara's fifth album and first release to chart on the Billboard 200 (entering at No. 34) and also their first to appear on the Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. In the band's native Canada, The Con peaked at No. 5 and was nominated for a Juno Award and a Polaris Music Prize.
Filter said, "The Con is a startlingly dark, yet characteristically vibrant offering, featuring a band that's learned to harness the energy-highs, while tempering pretty (even pastoral) pop-folk with a new, deeply-affecting brand of melancholy." Rolling Stone praised it as "uncommonly catchy" andMojo said, "The Con rockets beyond even their own high standards." Awarding the album five stars,The Guardian noted, "When your heart feels like a stone in your breast, The Con will prove a perfect, sweetly addictive companion."
Twin sisters born in Canada, Tegan and Sara have sold over one million albums, and have received seven Gold certifications, one Double Platinum certification, three Juno Awards, two Polaris Prize nominations and a GRAMMY® nomination. They have performed on some of the world's biggest stages, from the 2015 Oscar Telecast to major festivals, such as Coachella, Lollapalooza and Glastonbury. Their current album, Love You to Death, is the follow up to 2013's Heartthrob, which contained "Closer" - a multi-format hit that has been certified Gold in the U.S. and Double Platinum in Canada.

About the Tegan and Sara Foundation: The Tegan and Sara Foundation fights for economic justice, health and representation for LGBTQ girls and women - three areas where LGBTQ girls and women face the biggest challenges. Tegan and Sara launched the Foundation in October 2016, with a nationwide "listening and learning tour" where they met with LGBTQ young people, researchers, legislators and nonprofits who've been at the forefront of supporting the LGBTQ community.
The Foundation's initiatives have included a partnership with Coalition and Orlando LGBTQ Center to expand their counseling services for LGBTQ youth in response to recent spikesin calls to suicide hotlines, rallying against anti-LGBTQ legislation in North Carolina by supporting Equality North Carolina, supporting the Audre Lorde Project's community support initiatives for LGBTQ people, partnering with DonorsChoose.Org to increase access to LGBTQ-inclusive curriculum in public schools nationwide and supporting Egale Canada's Two Spirits, One Voice initiative, which supports individuals identifying as both LGBTQ and Indigenous (Two Spirit people).
